Tokyo

Hello there! It is high time there was an update round here but recently both of us have extremely busy and finding time to blog has become hard. Excuses aside, here are some of my adventures in the largest city in the world (Jess: thank you Savannah for that fact).
(Savannah: no problem (it's actually down to Rory))

We arrived around at night time, my mum and I were staying with my Uncle Joey who has a tiny little Tokyo apartment in a really lovely area.

I have to say, we ate a lot of food on this trip!

When we visited Kyoto (only overnight) we were lucky enough to be able to go to a tea ceremony as well as eat plenty of sushi and visit a lot of small shrines.

This is Tôfuku-ji's Hôjô "Hassô" Garden which is an example of a Zen Garden which used to be tended to as a form of meditation by monks.

This was the entrance to a Temple with hundreds of orange pillars .

I have to say, one of my favourite parts of this trip was dressing up in Kimonos - we got a lot of stares and a few people even asked to take picture with us.

I can definitely see myself living here one day -  in addition to the cultural sites there's also the city busy areas of central Tokyo which I would need as living in the suburbs seems like an impossibility for me.
